Tommy Lee-5-1024x1024Lee was born Thomas Lee Bass in Athens on October 3, 1962 to David Lee Thomas Bass (American U.S. Army sergeant) and Vassiliki "Voula"Voula Papadimitriou (Greek, Basilike Papademetriou) as a contestant for the year 1957's Miss Greece beauty contest. Athena the younger sister of his is also a drummer. When Lee was just two years oldaged when his father left his family back to United States, settling in California.Lee received his first drum sticks when he was four years old. He also received his first proper drum kit as a teenager. In pursuit of a career as an artist, he dropped out of high school and joined the L.A. nightclub band Suite 19. (#5) He was a teenager who loved listening to Van Halen and Led Zeppelin as well as Kiss, AC/DC, Cheap Trick, Kiss and Led Zeppelin. His most significant drumming influences include John Bonham, Tommy Aldridge, Alex Van Halen and Terry Bozzio
